Women’s U-23 One Day Trophy

JAMMU, Mar 9: Ananaya Sharma’s brilliant bowling performance helped Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) to a comfortable 6-wicket victory over Mizoram in the ongoing Women’s U-23 One Day Trophy at St Xavier’s KCA Cricket Stadium, Trivandrum today.
Mizoram won the toss and chose to bat, but they were bowled out for just 54 runs in 27.4 overs. Nunmawii was the top scorer for Mizoram with 12 runs off 28 balls, including 2 boundaries. The rest of the Mizoram batters struggled against the disciplined bowling attack of J&K.
Ananaya Sharma was the standout bowler for J&K, claiming 4 wickets for just 15 runs in 6.4 overs. Mariya Noorain supported her well with 2 wickets for 5 runs in 5 overs. Ronak Jahan and captain Rudrakshi Chib took 1 wicket each.
Chasing the target of 55, J&K made light work of the chase, reaching the target in 9.4 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Chitra Singh Jamwal was the top scorer for J&K with 18 runs off 16 balls, hitting 4 boundaries, while Captain Rudrakshi Chib remained unbeaten on 11 runs, including 2 fours. Mizoram’s Zdi took 2 wickets, while Jacinta and Sandhia claimed 1 wicket each. J&K will face Goa next on March 11, 2025.
