JAMMU, June 5: The Jammu & Kashmir men and women Basketball teams have departed to participate in the maiden 3×3 National Basketball Championship, scheduled to be held at Kochi, Kerala from June 12 to 14.
The teams were officially screened and cleared by the screening committee of the J&K Sports Council (JKSC) prior to their departure. The men’s team includes Aryan Sharma, Shafiq ul Rehman, Prayanshu Thakur and Vishal Choudhary, while the women’s team features Sakshi Sharma, Anupriya, Kashish Thakur and Chitreshi Gupta.
Prominent office bearers and officials present during the send-off included Dr. Vikram Handa, President, J&K Basketball Association; Ashok Singh Jamwal, Senior Vice President; Aman Sharma, General Secretary; along with coaches Sachin Dogra and Rohan Kundal. The screening committee comprised Satpal Singh, Divisional Sports Officer Jammu; Arshi Nad, Manager JKSC and Dr. Jagandeep Singh.
The participation marks a significant step forward in promoting 3×3 Basketball in the Union Territory, with expectations high for a strong performance from both teams.
