JAMMU, Jan 16: J&K Bank Football Club lifted the 18th Christmas Gold Cup 2024-25 title with a commanding 4-1 win over J&K Police FC in the final played at Mini-Stadium Parade Ground, here today. The win marked the Bank’s fourth consecutive victory in the prestigious tournament.
In a thrilling contest, both teams were locked at 1-1 at halftime. Furqan Nabi put J&K Bank ahead early in the first half. Salman Ahmad equalized for J&K Police. The match, which was fiercely contested, saw both sides battling hard for the lead. However, the second half saw a dominant display from J&K Bank, with Furqan Nabi scoring two more goals to complete his hat-trick. Akif Reshi added a fourth to seal the victory, with a 4-1 scoreline ensuring the Bank’s triumph.
Furqan Nabi’s standout performance earned him the ‘Man of the Match’ award. His clinical finishing and strong attacking play were key factors in J&K Bank’s decisive win.
The final was graced by ADGP Jammu Zone Anand Jain as the chief guest, with former Minister Priya Sethi attending as the guest of honor. Other dignitaries included Shiv Kumar Sharma, DIG Jammu, Samba & Kathua Range; Joginder Singh, SSP Jammu; Vivek Shakher Sharma, SP City North Jammu; and Satpal Singh, Manager of Mini Stadium.
