J&K artists shine, secure India’s overall win at music & dance event

JAMMU, June 16: Continuing their tradition of excellence, artists from Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) Union Territory brought pride to India and the region by clinching the overall championship trophy at the 5th Mount Everest International Music and Dance Championship 2025, held at Rastriya Nach Ghar Auditorium, Kathmandu, Nepal. The event was organized under the joint auspices of the Nepal Dance Sports Federation, National Performing Arts Federation of Nepal and Dance Sports Association of Bharat.
About 30 participants from J&K showcased their talent, helping India win the overall championship. The performers secured multiple gold medals across categories such as singing, folk dance, classical music, and western dance. Notable winners included Suhani Sharma and Divyansh Sudan in singing; Pranvat Singh and Devansh Sharma in folk dance; and Aradhya Sharma in classical music singing. The Harman Bhangra Group, comprising Harliv Kour, Jasmeh Kour, Pranvat Singh, Amanpreet Singh, Ishmeet Kour, Bhavneet Kour, Aaruhi Bhagat, Devansh Sharma and Reyansh Sudan, won gold in group dance. Manikarnika Singh won gold in classical dance. Additionally, the junior dance group and western dance group from Udhampur district also won gold medals.
The team was led by Tajinder Singh, President of Harman Cultural and Educational Society, Jammu, and Gurvinder Kour, General Secretary of HCES. The winners received a warm felicitation on their return in Jammu.
