JD YSS flags off Para Athletes for World C’ship

JAMMU, Sept 25: Vinakshi Koul, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu, today flagged off four para athletes from Jammu & Kashmir for the 12th World Para Athletic Championship, scheduled at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi, on September 27 and 28.
The athletes Ranjesh Singh (Basant Garh, Udhampur), Rakesh Singh (Sarore, Jammu), Sumit Kumar (Rajpur Kouler, Kotli) and Sarman Singh (Nanak Nagar, Jammu) — will represent the Union Territory with pride and determination.
They are accompanied by Coach-cum-Manager Nirmal Singh, a former national athlete and Lecturer in Physical Education. Koul praised the athletes as true ambassadors of J&K and encouraged them to bring laurels to the region. Officers and officials from the Activities, Accounts, and Establishment Sections of the Directorate were also present.
