*IPL player Mithun Manhas gives tips to cricketers

JAMMU, June 28: Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) registered berth in semifinal, whereas Tawi Cricket Club (TCC) sailed into semis after both the teams outclassed their opponents in the ongoing 3rd Jammu Tawi Summer T-20 Cup, being organized by Jammu Tawi Sports Cricket Club at GGM Science College ground, here today.
The first match of the day was played between Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) and Ever Shine Cricket Club (ESCC), in which former registered 51 runs win and sailed into semifinal of the tournament.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, JCC scored a magnificent total of 178 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Sidharth Magotra played a superb inning of 73 runs and remained not out, whereas Paras Sharma contributed with 31 runs. The well-known name in the field of cricket and IPL player Mithun Manhas, who is also president of JCC also played the match and scored 20 runs.
From ESCC side, Hardeep Singh, Hoshiyar Singh and Dheeraj Raina scalped one wicket apiece.
In reply, ESCC failed to chase the target and was bundled out at 127 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Dheeraj Raina scored 63 runs, whereas Arif Khan made 16 runs.
From JCC side, Rompy was the pick of the bowler with 3 wickets, whileas Deepak Dogra scalped 2 wickets and Vishwajeet Singh took 1 wicket.
Sidharth Magotra of JCC was declared as man of the match.
On the occasion, Mithun Manhas also shared his cricketing experience and gave tips to the players.
In the second match, Tawi Cricket Club (TCC) crushed Hiths Educational Club (HEC) by 22 runs and registered berth in the quarterfinal of the tournament.
Batting first after winning the toss, TCC set a target of 174 runs for all out in 20 overs. Puneet scored magnificent 70 runs, whereas Aryan and Nitin Mehra made 40 and 29 runs respectively.
From HEC side, Kader scalped 4 wickets, whereas Vijender Singh and Aftab claimed 3 wickets each.
In the second inning, HEC failed to chase the target was and bundled out at 152 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Aftab was top scorer with 33 runs, whereas Wasim and Kader contributed with 27 and 24 runs respectively.
From TCC side, Prince took 3 wickets, whileas Surinder scalped 2 wickets.
Puneet of TCC was adjudged as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, Sohail Yusuf and Madan Lal.
The commentators for the match were Sohan Bharti and Amit Sharma.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Tawi Sports Cricket Club will take on Country Cricket Academy and KCCC will clash with Gole Cricket Club.
