KATHUA, Jan 3: Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) defeated the formidable side of Punjab Electricity Board (PEB) Patiala, one of the contenders of the Tournament by 26 runs to advance in the ongoing 4th Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone T20 Cricket Tournament at Sports Stadium, here today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, JCC scored a decent total of 147 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Sandeep Singh (36), Paras Sharma (29), Gurdeep Singh (24) and Sidharth Magotra (23) were the main scorers.
In reply, Punjab Electricity Board bundled out for 121 runs, thus lost the match by 26 runs. Krishna was the top scorer with 36 runs. For JCC, speedsters Rahil Singh and Vishwajeet Singh bagged 2 wickets each, while Paras Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Deepak Dogra and Aditya claimed one wicket apiece. Paras Sharma was adjudged man of the match for his all-round show which included two brilliant catches also. BCCI Level-1 coach Suresh Singh accompanied the Jammu Cricket Club as coach.
