JAMMU, Apr 1: The Jammu Veteran League (Edition 2), a high-octane anti-drug cricket tournament organized by Samvedna Club at MA Stadium, concluded today, promoting healthy lifestyles and steering youth away from drug abuse. The tournament, which began on March 18, culminated in a thrilling final between Royal Legends Cricket Club and United RS Pura Cricket Club, with Royal Legends claiming the title through a 7-wicket victory.
The closing ceremony was graced by Aijaz Qaiser, Joint Director Tourism Jammu, as chief guest, along with Savita Chauhan, Deputy Director Tourism (Publicity), and Keshav Chopra, Chairman of Samvedna Club. The dignitaries felicitated winners and participants, emphasizing the role of sports in building a vibrant, disciplined, and drug-free community.
Aijaz Qaiser highlighted youth engagement and community development, while Savita Chauhan urged youngsters to “Say No to Drugs and Yes to Sports.” Keshav Chopra reaffirmed Samvedna Club’s commitment to work alongside the Police Administration to eliminate drugs from J&K, praising their efforts and thanking Dr Vikas Gupta, Director Tourism Jammu, for support.
Other attendees included Rahul Suri, Abhishek Gupta, Parneesh Mahajan, Rohit Gupta, Manoj Tandon, Anju Chopra, Sourav Gupta, Divyansh Gupta, Raman Sharma, Vikas Kumar and others. The event concluded with prize distribution and appreciation for participants and organizers.
