JAMMU, Nov 16: Jammu University gave a strong fight but went down by 3 wickets to Jamia University in the final of the All India Vice-Chancellor’s T-20 Cricket Tournament 2025, organized by LUVAS University, Hisar.
Batting first, Jammu University scored 144 for 5 in 20 overs. Niranjan Singh led the charge with 50 runs, while Shami Kumar contributed 38, Raj Kumar Bakshi 14 and Vishal Sudan 11. For Jamia University, Adeel took 2 wickets for 19 runs, Mohd Akhlak claimed 2 for 17, and Mohd Fareed accounted for 1 for 43.
In reply, Jamia University reached 145 for 7 in 19.1 overs. Wahid scored 46, Mohd Yusuf 31, Dr. Imran 20 and Mohd Fareed 15. Jammu University bowlers Balwant Singh Slathia (2/33), Mohd Amin (2/21) and Rajesh (2/35) tried hard, while Shantul Raina took 1 wicket for 28 runs.
Wahid was declared Man of the Match, Shantul Raina Man of the Series and Best Batsman with 546 runs and 8 wickets and Karan Sharma Best Bowler with 19 wickets.
