Jammu Students excel at 2024-25 SOF

JAMMU, May 27: Three students from Jammu have earned top honours in the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) exams for the 2024-25 academic year.
Shreyasi R. Khajuria of G.D. Goenka Public School secured the first rank in the International General Knowledge Olympiad, winning a gold medal and a merit certificate. Anvi from Crescent Public School achieved second place in the International Hindi Olympiad, receiving a silver medal and merit certificate. Agrim Bargotra of Doon International School claimed third rank in the International Social Science Olympiad, awarded a bronze medal and merit certificate.
The SOF Olympiad this year witnessed participation from millions of students across 72 countries including large number of students from Jammu.
The SOF organized a felicitation ceremony at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Delhi, attended by 750 students and teachers. The event was graced by chief guest Justice JK Maheshwari, Judge of the Supreme Court of India, who emphasized the importance of imparting knowledge and values to empower students as future nation-builders.
The top three international rank holders from classes 1 to 12 across eight Olympiad exams received cash prizes: Rs 50,000 for first rank, Rs 25,000 for second and Rs 10,000 for third, along with medals and certificates.
SOF founder Mahabir Singh highlighted the foundation’s 27 years of Olympiad exams and various scholarship schemes supporting meritorious and economically weaker students. The event was also attended by Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla of Madhya Pradesh High Court and Dr. Satish Arya, Dean, CBLU, Haryana.
