Jammu, Srinagar lift State Level Basketball titles

JAMMU, Sept 12: The two days Inter District State Level Basketball Tournament for Under-17 and Under-19 boys concluded at M A Stadium, here today.
In Under-19 boys summit clash, Jammu defeated District Srinagar in the final match by 31-17 points, while district Srinagar defeated District Jammu by 13-36 points in Under-17 boys final. The third place went to Udhampur in both the categories.
Earlier, in 1st semifinal, Srinagar defeated Kupwara by 25-04, while in the second semifinal, Jammu defeated Udhampur by 37-25 points.
In Under-17 boys 1st semifinal, Srinagar beat Samba District by 25-8 points, while as District Jammu defeated District Udhampur by 29-17 points.
The prizes and trophies were distributed by Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu among the winner and runners-up.
The tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as a part of annual calendar of sports activities under the patronage of Jahangir Mir, Director General Youth Services and Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Jt Director and Sukhdev Raj, DYSSO Jammu.
The matches were officiated by Vishal Bharti, Ravi Singh, Amit Kalsi, Vaneet and Rajesh Bandral.
