Jammu defeats Kashmir in 1st J&K Veterans Cup T20

SRINAGAR, Aug 31: Jammu Veterans defeated Kashmir Veterans by 22 runs in the inaugural match of the first J&K Veterans Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, held at Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Srinagar. The tournament is being organised by the Veterans Cricket Association J&K in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association.
Vivek Suri, General Secretary of the Veterans Cricket Association J&K, stated that this is the first such tournament featuring Kashmir and Jammu Veterans, aimed at providing a platform to players above 40 years of age. Performers from this tournament will be shortlisted for the upcoming North Zone Veterans Tournament in Haryana this October.
Jammu Veterans, after winning the toss, posted 155 runs in 20 overs. Sarnjeet top-scored with 50 (30 balls), followed by Vishav Pratap (31) and Maninder (25). For Kashmir, Easha Mohammed took 5 wickets, Tahir and Irfaan grabbed 2 each and Tahseen claimed 1. In reply, Kashmir Veterans were restricted to 133/9. Tariq fought valiantly with 67 runs, while Rayees added 18. Vishav took 3 wickets, Sarnjeet 2 and Vivek, Rakesh, Mubashir, and Maninder took 1 each. Sarnjeet was named Man of the Match.
