JAMMU, Mar 8: Jubilant scenes were witnessed across Jammu as cricket fans poured onto the streets to celebrate India’s emphatic victory in the ICC T20 World Cup final against New Zealand on Sunday. Defending their title in style, India produced a sensational batting performance to defeat New Zealand by 96 runs after posting a record total in the summit clash.

Soon after the victory, celebrations erupted across the city with cricket enthusiasts waving the tricolour, chanting patriotic slogans and bursting firecrackers. The streets turned into a festive scene as fans danced and cheered to mark the memorable win.
Large gatherings were seen in several parts of the city, particularly in the Panjtirthi area, where supporters came together to celebrate the triumph. Fans praised the team’s dominant performance and lauded the contributions of players such as Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan along with the rest of the squad.
“We are thrilled to see Team India win its third T20 World Cup title and that too in such a dominant manner. The bowlers, batters and fielders were exceptional,” said an excited fan during the celebrations.
Another supporter said the victory meant more than just a sporting achievement. “It is not only the Indian team playing; the emotions of millions of people are connected with it. We are proud and congratulate the entire nation on this remarkable win,” she said.
