Jammu boy Aryan Mahajan wins prestigious Millcreek Giant Round Robin TT Tournament

JAMMU, Apr 17: Defeating strong rival Asawari Khadode by 3-2 in the summit clash, talented Jammu peddler, Aryan Mahajan lifted the title trophy of the prestigious 2016 Millcreek Giant Round Robin 5L Table Tennis Tournament, sponsored by Butterfly at Erie, Pennsylvania.
Earlier, after trailing by 0-2, Aryan, grandson of Ravinder Mahajan came back strongly with a strategic game plan to win back-to-back three games and emerge champion, defeating his rival by (3-2) in the final.
Before the finals, Aryan got better of Bill Schlernitzauer, trounced Pepper, outplayed Jeff, prevailed over David Shih and outclassed Bimal Khadka in one-sided group matches by (3-0).
There were 72 contestants from around the country.
Earlier, on January 31, 2016, the Indian teen had won the under-16 Table Tennis Tournament at Ohio, organized by the Columbus Table Tennis Club as part of celebrations for the Chinese New Year in Columbus.
Ace peddler has actively been participating in other tournaments  including the Arnold Table Tennis Challenge in Columbus (OH) where there were over 300 participants and he proved his mettle by winning the U-1400 Tiered title. Moreover, Aryan played in Aurora Cup in Chicago (IL), and ended up reaching quarterfinals.
He has been training extensively with Ohio’s top player and mentor Samson Dubina. Also Aditya Singh has been tremendously motivating and cheering for him in all the tournaments.
