Jaise Akhter continues brilliance as Srinagar Queens thrash Chennai Sharks

JAMMU, Dec 23: Producing a superb all-round show, Jaise Akhter continued her brilliance and guided Srinagar Queens to thrash Chennai Sharks and register third consecutive win to enter into the semifinals of the ongoing Chief Minister’s T20 Premier League, being jointly organized by J&K Police HG/CD/SDRF and State Sports Council at Parade ground, here.
AK Choudhary, Additional Director General of Police Armed was the chief guest on the occasion, while Jagjit Kumar IGP Traffic J&K was the guest of honour.
The chief guest and the guest of honour were introduced with the participating teams in the presence of Ranjeet Kalra, Vice Chairman Sports Council and other dignitaries.
Earlier, Srinagar Queens defeated Chennai Sharks easily by 7 wickets.
Batting first, Chennai Sharks bundled out for 91 runs. Sayima (29) and Sheraza (13) were the main scorers. From bowling side, Jaise took 2 wickets, while Bushra, Ashmina, Pooja, Sanya and skipper Shathira Jakir Jesy claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Srinagar Queens chased the target in 8.5 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Jaise top scored with 55 runs. From Chennai Sharks, Asra and Khushboo claimed 1 wicket each. Jaise was adjudged as the woman of the match. The first semifinal will be played between Srinagar Queens and Delhi Angels at 9.30 am tomorrow, while Jammu Princess will take on Punjab Birds at 12.30 pm.
