JAMMU, Dec 24: J P World School celebrated its Annual Day today, commemorating 20 years of togetherness and excellence in education, with the theme “Rekindling the Yuletide Spirit”.
The event was graced by Satish Sharma, Cabinet Minister, as chief guest, who urged students to imbibe a strong scientific temper while remaining rooted in the cultural ethos of Jammu and Kashmir. He lauded the school for shaping disciplined, socially responsible citizens and emphasized that education should nurture curiosity, innovation, ethical values and respect for diversity to build a progressive and inclusive society. Highlighting J&K’s growth in Information Technology and Science, he encouraged students to pursue careers in technology, research, sports and entrepreneurship, blending scientific thinking with cultural sensitivity for sustainable development.
Other dignitaries present included Dr Panna Manhas Choudhary (Chairperson), Rahul Sahai (Chairman, Indian Chamber of Commerce, J&K), Ashok Kumar Khajuria (Director Finance, Youth Services & Sports), Rayaz Hussain (Director Finance, Industry & Commerce), Vivek Shekhar (SP North), and Pardeep Dutta (Journalist). Principal Aparana Kohli, parents, staff, and students also attended the function.
The programme began with the inauguration of the school’s new anthem, reflecting its 20-year journey of excellence. Chairperson Dr. Choudhary and Principal Kohli highlighted the school’s achievements and commitment to value-based education. The celebration included the felicitation of national and international sportspersons, alumni, and brand ambassadors, with a special virtual interaction with IAS officer alumnus Seerat Baji, who secured All India Rank 516 in UPSC 2023.
