LEH, Jan 22: The 4th LG Cup Ice Hockey Tournament, organized in Kargil concluded with a grand felicitation ceremony at Drona Hall, 5th Battalion, ITBP.
The event celebrated the remarkable performance by ITBP men and women ice hockey teams, who showcased exceptional talent and sportsmanship on the ice.
In men’s category, eight teams participated—ITBP, Army, Paskum, Humus Drass, Chiktan, Chuchot, Shelkar and Kargil Ice Hockey Club.
The ITBP men’s team impressed with a strong performance, defeating Paskum by 4-1 in the opening match on January 17 to secure a semi-final spot.
They then clinched a 3-0 victory against Humus Drass on January 18 to reach the final.
The thrilling final on January 20 saw ITBP face the Army team in a hard-fought match, where ITBP finished as runners-up, earning a cash prize of Rs. 60,000.
CT/GD Thinless Gyaltson was named Player of the Match and he received a cash prize of Rs. 5,000.
In women’s category, four teams competed—ITBP, LWIHF, DH Kargil and Both Kharbu Team.
The ITBP women’s team delivered a dominant performance throughout the tournament. They defeated DH Kargil by 6-0 on January 18 to advance to the final. In the championship match on January 19, ITBP secured a resounding 9-0 victory over LWIHF, claiming the title and a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000.
CT/GD Tashi Dolker was honoured as Player of the Tournament with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000, while CT/GD Dechen Dolker was named as Player of the Match and she received Rs. 5,000.
