DODA, Feb 1: The first Mehboob Memorial Football Championship concluded at Sports Stadium here, which was organized by District Football Association Doda under the banner of J&K Football Association.
A total of eight teams from different parts of the District participated in this championship whereas the final event was played between All Star Club Doda and Youth Club Ghat in which Youth Club Ghat emerged as winners by 4: 2 points.
The aim of holding of football tournament in the memory of Late Mehboob Hassan Kraipak is an appropriate homage to him as he himself remained associated with different sports activities with passion and spirit besides the endeavour of District Football Association is to channelize the energy of youth in positive direction and to provide them opportunity in sports activities in order to nurture their hidden talent.
Distict Social Welfare Officer Doda Mohamad Ashraf Khurwani was the chief guest while Dy SP Traffic Zohaib Hassan Patigaroo was the guest of honor besides General Secretary District Football Association Manzoor Ahmed Batt, District Secretary Football Association Faizan Ali Tramboo, Senior sportsman Imran Tantray and Asgar Batt were the special guests.
Speaking on the occasion, DSWO Doda Mohammad Ashraf Khurwani urged upon the youth to focus on their goals and put in dedicated efforts to compete and excel at national and international level.
DySP Traffic Zohaib Hassan Patigaroo while speaking on the occasion asked the youth to channelize their energies in positive direction and create a niche for themselves in the sports of their interest.
Later on prizes were distributed among winner and runner up teams by the guests.
