KATHUA, Aug 24: The IRP-19th Battalion, Kathua organized the “Sundays on Cycle” event under the Fit India Movement, aiming to promote physical fitness, eco-friendly transport and the message “Fitness Ki Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz.” The event was led by Atul Sharma, Commandant IRP-19th Battalion and saw enthusiastic participation from over 50 cyclists.
Despite incessant rains, the rally, flagged off from the Battalion Headquarters, covered a 7 km route passing through Badala, Changran and Chak, before returning. Among the key participants were Rajinder Singh Rahi (SP, Quarter Master), Rajesh Jamwal (DySP), Sanjiv Sharma (DySP), Inspector Abhishek Sharma, Inspector Sajad Ahmad, several other officers, women police personnel and 22 children from nearby villages.
Commandant Atul Sharma appreciated the spirit of the participants, emphasizing the health benefits of cycling and its role in promoting a cleaner environment.
