Kolkata, July 11: Local lad Irfan Ali Mollah held on to his nerves while clinching the title in the Tollygunge Juniors Challenge, the seventh leg of the Tata Steel IGU East Zone Sub Junior Tour that concluded at the Tollygunge Golf Club here today.
Irfan who was leading by a shot overnight, managed to ward off the challenge of Udayjit Bhalotia and emerge victorious in the top category (Cat A & B) with the similar margin of a solitary stroke. The Kolkata lad finished with a tournament total of 163 after a final round of 84.
Zahed Khan, Kunal Naidu and Majid Khan shared the third spot with an aggregate of 171 for two rounds while Nasim Ali with a total of 173 finished sixth.
Udayjit Bhalotia who finished second in the top category took home the Category B honours with Kunal Naidu and Yashvardhan Sarda finishing second and third with totals of 171 and 174 respectively. Amit Shaw was fourth at 179 while Anmol Mahajan was fifth at 180.
Devansh Chadha with a two-day total of 158 won in Category C while Sandeep Yadav was second at 161. Manish Rajak finished third at 181.
Rajib Ali captured the Category D title with a total of 172 while Kaushal Bagrodia and Divij Sehgal ended up second and third with totals of 195 and 198 respectively.
Vanishka Arya emerged as the champion in the Girls Junior category after she ended up with a total of 226 with Adreeja Ghosh finishing second at 281. Susnata Deb took the Girls Category C honours while Chitrangadha Singh was the champion in Girls Category D Rakshik Basu emerged victorious in Category E. (UNI)
