JAMMU, Mar 15: Inter-Zone Sports Meet-2021, organised by J&K Police got underway at various venues including Gulshan Ground, DPL Jammu and MA Stadium, here today.
Medal presentation ceremony for Shooting (Men/Women), Weightlifting (Men/Women), Pencak Silat (Men/Women) was conducted at Gulshan Ground Jammu which was presided by MK Sinha, IGP Crime J&K as chief guest, whereas another medal presentation ceremony for Athletics (Men/Women), Boxing (Men/Women), Wrestling (Men/Women) was also conducted at same venue which was presided over by Mukesh Singh, IGP Jammu as chief guest.
About 285 medals including 96 Gold medals, 96 Silver and 93 Bronze medals were distributed among the winners during the two different ceremonies, held at Gulshan Ground.
In shooting rifle (100 mtrs) prone position men, Krishan Lal, Kripal Singh and Mohd Nasir stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, whereas in rifle (100 mtrs) kneeling position men, Kripal Singh, Mohd. Aslam and Munish Jasrotia remained 1st, 2nd and 3rd and in rifle (100 mtrs) prone position women, Aasiya clinched gold besides in rifle (100 mtrs) kneeling position women, Komal secured gold while in pistol (30 mtrs) standing position men, Sarabjeet Singh, Arif Shah and Sidhant Sharma bagged top three medals respectively.
In pistol (30 mtrs) standing position women, Nasib Kour and Reshika Sharma won two top medals, whereas in pistol (15 mtrs) squatting position men, Parvez Ahmed, Mastan Singh and Sarabjeet Singh secured gold, silver and bronze medals respectively and in pistol (15 mtrs) squatting position women, Asiya and Shahzada won gold and silver medals besides in carbine (50 mtrs) standing position men, Mastan Singh won gold medals whereas Mushtaq Ahmed and Faisal Qureshi clinched bronze medals, while carbine (50 mtrs) standing position women, Neesha, Reshika Sharma and Pooja Devi bagged top three medals respectively and in carbine (50 mtrs) kneeling position men, Pawan Kumar remained 1st while in carbine (50 mtrs) kneeling position women, Priya Devi and Shahzada clinched top two medals.
In weightligting men 55kg, Ravi Kumar and Mehraj Hussain clinched top two medals, whereas in 61 kg, Manoj Singh and Shubnandan Sharma won gold and silver medals and in 67 kg, top three medals were clinched by Rohit Kumar, Arif Hussain and Sunil Dutt besides in 73 kg, Dilip Singh, Kuldeep Singh and Sunil Kumar Sharma secured top three medals respectively, while in 81 kg, Pawan Sagar, Ziya Ahmed and Akhter Hussain stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and in 89 kg, Ranjit Singh, Arun Sharma and Irfan Ali stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In 96 kg, top three medals were secured by Anil Kumar, Pardeep Kumar and Arif Khan respectively, whereas in 102 kg, Paramjeet Singh, Sikander Singh and Bakhtawar Ahmed stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd and in 109 kg, Bakhtawar Ahmed and Hoshiyar Singh won first two medals besides in +109 kg, Maninder Singh and Jatinder Singh bagged top two medals.
In weightligting women category (45 kg), Ritu Bala and Arpana Sharma remained 1st and 2nd , whereas in 55 kg, Divya Bharti, Shallu Devi and Nisha Devi clinched top three medals and in 59 kg, Neelam Devi and Shivali stood 1st and 2nd, besides in 64 kg, Shakuntla Kachroo, Preeti Devi and Pooja Devi stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and in 71 kg, Inderjeet Kour and Jaswinder Kour won top two medals.
In 76 kg, top two positions were clinched by Sudesh Kumari and Seema Devi, whereas in 87 kg, Syeda Ulfat and Pooja Devi clinched top two medals and in plus 87 kg, Salma Bano and Usrat Fatima bagged top two medals.
In pencak silat men 60 kg, Ashiq Majeed and Aman Sandhu bagged top two medals while Sukhwinder Singh and Asif Ali shared bronze medal, whereas in 65 kg, Ankleshwar Manhas and Ajay Khajuria clinched top two medals while Vinay Sharma and Aijaz Ahmed shared bronze medal and in 70 kg, Atul Sharma and Majid Gilkar bagged top two places while Farooq Ahmed and Shahnaz Ahmed shared bronze medals besides in 75 kg, top two medals were won by Abdul Rashid and Mohd Umar while Lucky Sharma and Manzoor Ahmed shared bronze medal.
In 80kg, Manzoor Ahmed and Abdul Hamid clinched top two medals while Munner Ahmed and Rohit Chib shared bronze medal, whereas in 85 kg, Showkat Ahmed and Rajit Singh stood 1st and 2nd while Shabir Ahmed and Mohd Adil shared third position and in 90 kg, two top medals were clinched by Nissar Ahmed and Malik Adil while Samit Zahoor and Muneer Ahmed shared bronze medal besides in 95 plus kg, Sukhdev and Shubham Singh won first two positions while Gulshan Singh and Kishan Singh shared bronze medal and in 70 (B) kg, Ravees Ahmed and Zulfikar Ali secured top two positions while Mohd Iqbal and Mujeer Ahmed shared bronze medal.
In pencak silat women (55 kg), Divya Bharti, Priya Rani and Ranjeet Kour won top three positions respectively, whereas in 75 kg Aasiya and Tabbassum secured top two positions respectively.
In athletics 200 mtrs race men, top three positions were bagged by Faisal Rashid, Manzoor Ahmed and Showkat Hussain, whereas in 400 mtrs, top three medals were clinched by Naresh Kumar, Dara Singh and Sunil Kumar and in high jump men, Mohinder Kumar, Naseer Ahmed and Dara Singh stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively besides in 100 mtrs race, top three medals were clinched by Faisal Rashid, Balwan Singh and Syed Saleem, whereas in 400 mtrs relay, Syed Saleem, Mudassir Ahmed, Tanvir Hussain and Aamir Ameen clinched gold medals, while Waseem Mir, Faisal Rashid, Iqbal Mirand Shafiq Wani secured silver medals and Chandan Singh, Shabir Kumar, Vinod Sharma and Shafat-Ul Bashir clinched bronze medals.
In 10 mtrs cross country men (individual), Deepak Kumar, Mohd Rafiq and Ram Raj secured top three positions respectively, whereas in team event Deepak Kumar, Ram Raj, Rakesh Singh and Bilbir Singh clinched gold medal, while Mohd Aslam, Altaf Hussain, Sandesh Singh and Mohd Asif clinched silver medal and Mohd Rafiq, Naresh Singh, Mohd Iqbal and Shallu Ram won bronze medal.
Sonika Devi, Pooja Devi and Shallu Devi, and Priya Devi, Pooja Devi and Meena Sharma stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd in 400 mtrs race and 800 mtrs race respectively, whereas Tabassum Amin, Neelam Devi Shakutla Kachroo & Seema Devi, Pooja Rani and Salma Bani secured top three positions in 1500 mtrs race and javelin throw besides in discuss throw, Jaswinder Kour, Simmi Devi and Asha Jamwal stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively while in shotput, Asha Jamwal, Jaswinder Kour and Seema Devi clinched top three positions and in 100 race, Divya Bharti, Sonika and Pooja Devi stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
In 200 mtrs race women, Divya Bharti, Sonika and Shallu Devi clinched top three places, whereas in jevellion throw men, Sohail Ahmed, Ratan Lal and Naseer Ahmed clinched top three medals and in long jump women, Sangita Koul, Divya Bharti and Neelam Devi bagged top three positions.
In boxing men, Sunny Choudhary and Mohd Ashraf stood 1st and 2nd in fly weight, whereas in Muneer Ali and Sikander Lal bagged top two positions in bantan weight and in light weight, Lucky Sharma, Ravi Das and Kuldeep Singh clinched top three places besides Aijaz Ahmed, Arif Hussain stood first and 2nd while Shabir Ahmed and Koushal Sharma shared bronze medal in light welter weight and in welter weight, Akshit Chouhan and Aijaz Ahmed stood first and 2nd while Amit Rajput and Sajad Haider shared bronze medal.
In middle weight, Atul Sharma and Yash Paul remained 1st and 2nd while Bilal and Liyakat shared bronze medal, whereas in light weight, Rohit Singh and Ranjeet Saini clinched top two positions while Amit and Parvaiz Ahmed shared bronze medal and in heavy weight Davinder Singh and Balbir Singh stood 1st and 2nd while Arif Ali and Ishfa1 Manzoor shared bronze medal besides in super heavy weight, Mohd Tariq, Abdul Sattar and Jaleel Ahmed remained 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In boxing women, Shallu Devi and Sonika Devi stood 1st and 2nd in feather category, whereas in bantam, Shivali Verma and Shahzada Hamid clinched gold and silver and in light weight two top medals were secured by Rajni Kumari and Preeti Devi besides in light welter, Priyanka Devi and Pooja Devi stood 1st and 2nd whereas in middle weight Shakuntla Kachroo and Nisha Rani bagged top two positions and in super heavy weight, Neelam Devi and Pooja Devi stool 1st and 2nd.
In wrestling free style men (57 kg), Amrik Singh, Rinku Kumar and Vikram Singh won top three places, whereas in 61 kg, Mohd Javed, Altaf Hussain and Ravi Dass stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd and in 65 kg, Riaz Mohd, Bharat Bhushan and Rashid Fayaz secured top three positions besides in 70 kg, Nawaz Ahmed, Rahul Singh and Ashwani Singh clinched top three positions while 74 kg, Fareed Ali, Atul Sharma and Akhter Hussain stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd and in 79 kg, Ranjeet Singh, Pawan Kumar, Heem Raj bagged top three positions.
In 86 kg, Pawan Kumar, Ashok and Amit Saini stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd whereas in 92 kg, Pankaj Sharma, Sukhdev Magotra and Mukader Khan bagged first three positions and in 97 kg, Shubham Singh, Gulshan Singh and Jaleel Ahmed clinched top three medals and Nissar Ahmed, Razak Ahmed and Bukthawar Ahmed stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in 125 kg.
In roman style, Riaz, Mohd Javid and Aquib Hussain bagged top three positions in 60 kg, whereas in 67 kg, Surinder Singh, Rashid and Mohd Din clinched top three positions and in 77 kg, Pawan kumar, Hassain Mir and Ravinder Sharma secured first three places besides in 82 kg, top three medals were bagged by Rahul, Fareed and Raj Singh while in 86 kg, Ranjeet Singh, Pawan Kumar and Sakinder Lal stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd and in 98 kg, Gulshan Singh, Shubham Singh and Pankaj Sharma clinched top three positions respectively.
In football, Armed Zone beat Jammu Zone by 1-0 goal. Imtiaz netted goal for Armed Zone in 80th minute of the game, whereas in Kabaddi, Armed Zone defeated Jammu Zone by 24 points and in basketball Armed Zone won the match by 37 points by defeating Jammu Zone.
In volleyball, Armed Zone defeated INTELSECT Zone by 3-1 sets while in handball INTELSECT Zone beat Armed Zone by eight goals.
