Rajouri, May 23: The Inter-Zone District Level Tournament organized by the District Youth Services and Sports Office Rajouri commenced today with great enthusiasm across Rajouri, Nowshera and Lamberi zones. The tournament features Under-14 boys competing in Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball and Football.
The event was inaugurated by Chief Education Officer Iqbal Hussain, who motivated the young athletes to maintain discipline and strive for excellence. The tournament is being held under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Mohd Qasim, with active assistance from Zonal Physical Education Officer Wali Mohd.
In Volleyball, Rajouri Zone defeated Doongi Zone by 2-0, while in Kabaddi, Lamberi Zone overcame Kalakote Zone by a margin of 15 points. The Football match at Nowshera witnessed a close contest with Nowshera Zone edging past Sunderbani Zone by 1-0. In Kho-Kho, Thannamandi Zone and Manjakote Zone emerged victorious in their respective matches.
The multi-venue tournament aims to identify young sporting talent and foster a culture of athletic excellence and healthy competition among school students across the district.
