Inter Zone Athletic Meet (Girls) gets under way

UDHAMPUR, Oct 18: District Udhampur lifted the overall trophy of the Inter Zone Athletic Meet under 14, 17 years (Girls) organised by Department of Youth Service and Sports (DYSS) at Sports stadium, here today.
Zone Jib and Zone Tikri secured second and third positions respectively in the championship, whereas, Poonam Sharma of Zone Jib and a student of Government High School, Kawa, was adjudged as best athlete of the meet.
On the concluding day today, Rashpal Singh, Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Udhampur, was the chief guest, who distributed medals and overall championships trophy among the winners in presence of Sukhdev Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO), Bhushan Sethi, Champa Devi, Ramlal Badyal, and Usha Bhat, Zonal Officers and other officials of the department.
The meet is being organised under the supervision of Sukhdev Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO), Udhampur.

100 meters, Mehal of GHSS Garhi, Ranjna of GHSS Udhampur and Manju Verma of GHSS Garhi claimed first, second and third positions respectively.
In 200 meters, Shaweta Sharma of GHSS Garhi, Sonika of GHSS Udhampur and Neha Taker of GHSS Tikri, claimed first, second and third positions respectively.
In 400 meters, Anju Devi of GHSS Udhampur secured first position, while, Asmat of GHSS Krimchi and Anju Devi of GHSS Garhi secured, second and third positions respectively.
In 800 meters, Nisha Sharma of GHSS Udhampur, claimed first positions, while, Rashi of GHSS Garhi and Nazama of GHSS Krimchi, pocketed second and third positions respectively.
In 1500 meter, Noor Jahan of GHSS Garhi, Shilpa Sharma of GHSS Ghordi and Lalita Devi of GHSS Udhampur, secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In 3000 meter, Radha Kumari of GHSS Udhampur claimed first position, while, second position was secured by Shamshad of GHSS Garhi.
In 5000 meter, Shilpa Kumari of GHSS Udhampur secured first position, while, Bishu Devi of GHSS Ghordi and Lima Devi of GHSS Udhampur claimed, second and third positions respectively.
In 4×100 meters, Pinky, Nisha, Arpna and Ranjna of GHSS Udhampur shared first position, while, Geeta, Neha, Arti and Manju of GHSS Tikri claimed second position.
In High Jump, Radha Kumari of GHSS Udhampur and Anjali Jamwal claimed first and second positions respectively.
In Long Jump, Nancy of GHSS Udhampur, Anjali of GHSS Garhi and Asmal Tara of GHSS Krimchi, secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In Shot-Put, Pinky Kumari of GHSS Udhampur, Gita Devi of GHSS Tikri and Parveen Akhtar of GHSS Krimchi, claimed first, second and third positions respectively.
In Javelin, Pinki of GHSS Udhampur, Reva Rani of GHSS Tikri and Asmat of GHSS Krimchi, secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In Discuss, Pinki Kumari of GHSS Udhampur claimed first position, while, Shivali of GHSS Ghord and Arti Devi of GHSS Tikri, secured second and third positions respectively.
The matches were officiated by Kanchan Bala, Raj Kumar, Vaishno Devi, Raman Kumar, Raj Kumar, Amit Sharma, Gourav Sharma, Nisha.
