JAMMU, May 27: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, concluded the Inter-Zonal District Level Competitions in Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Volleyball for Under-14 and Under-17 girls at various venues across the district.
The event witnessed the participation of around 550 students from different Government and private schools. In closely contested matches, Zones Satwari, Gandhi Nagar and Miran Sahib emerged victorious in both U-14 and U-17 girls’ Volleyball by defeating Zones Bishnah, Arnia, RS Pura, Jammu, Dansal, Marh, and Bhalwal. These same zones also clinched the U-14 girls’ Kabaddi title by overcoming Akhnoor, Khour, Jammu and Chowki Choura.
In U-17 Kabaddi, however, Zones Akhnoor, Khour, Jourian and Chowki Choura defeated Satwari, Gandhi Nagar and Miran Sahib. In U-17 boys’ yoga, Akhlesh Choudhary secured first place, Laksh Mahajan second and Mirdul Raj third. In boys’ badminton U-17, Satwari, Gandhi Nagar and Miran Sahib defeated Jammu, Dansal, Bhalwal and Marh. DYSSO Sukhdev Raj Sharma applauded the participants and encouraged continued involvement in sports for health and excellence.
