JAMMU, May 24: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, culminated the Inter-Zonal District Level competitions across various sports at multiple venues including MA Stadium, Garhi Ground Jourian, Bana Stadium, Khel Gaon Nagrota and Govt. Boys HS Jammu Cantt.
In Cricket U-17 Boys, Zone Gandhi Nagar defeated Zone Satwari by 61 runs. Gandhi Nagar scored 153 runs all out in 15 overs with Aaksh as the highest scorer (55 runs), while Kuashal took 4 wickets. In U-14 Boys cricket, Zone Satwari beat Zone Miran Sahib by 6 wickets, chasing 99 runs. Singam from Satwari was the top scorer with 35 runs.
In Basketball, Zone Gandhi Nagar defeated Zone Satwari by 6-5 in the U-14 girls final. In U-17 girls basketball, Gandhi Nagar beat Miran Sahib by 18-6 in the semifinal and then triumphed over Zone Jammu by 12-8 in the final. In Volleyball U-17 boys, Zone Satwari edged past Zone Gandhi Nagar by 15-10, while in U-17 girls Volleyball, Zone Gandhi Nagar beat Zone Satwari by 12-8. Zone Dansal won the U-14/17 girls Kho-Kho title among the cluster.
DYSSO Jammu Sukhdev Raj Sharma appreciated the participants and encouraged youth to maintain fitness through sports. Trophies and certificates were distributed to winners and runners-up.
