JAMMU, Oct 25: The Inter-Zonal District Level Athletics Competition for All Age Group (AAG) Girls, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, concluded today at the University of Jammu. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of around 250 girl athletes from various Government and Private Schools of District Jammu.
In the U-14 (200m), Sumeeti Sharma (Chowki Choura) bagged Gold, followed by Yashmita Thakur (Jammu) and Trishna (Marh). U-17 (200m) winners were Reetu Devi (Khour), Roshan Bibi (RS Pura) and Reetika Devi (Dansal), while U-19 (200m) titles went to Shivani (Jammu), Laxmi Devi (Bhalwal) and Ansali Devi (Marh).
In middle-distance races, Sahiba Choudhary (Dansal) topped U-14 (600m); Nazia Begum (Dansal) won U-17 (800m); and Insha Choudhary (Dansal) led U-19 (800m). Shot Put golds were claimed by Vertika Sharma (Jammu, U-17) and Akshita Verma (Satwari, U-19).
In Long Jump, Shriya Bhagat (Chowki Choura, U-14) and Priyanka Sharma (Akhnoor, U-17) emerged winners, while Javelin Throw golds went to Ishita Sharma (Akhnoor, U-17) and Shreya Raina (Miran Sahib, U-19). DYSSO Jammu appreciated the winners, urging them to continue displaying team spirit, discipline, and dedication in future competitions.
