UDHAMPUR, May 8: 2-days Inter-School Tournament of Jib zone concluded at Sports Stadium, here today.
Earlier, in Under-17 boys final, Government High School Upper Thanoa defeated Higher Secondary School Jagano by (21-16).
District Development Commissioner, Yasha Mudgal was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed prizes among the teams who remained winners and runners-up in volleyball, kabaddi and kho-kho.
In all, 317 boys and girls drawn from 27 institutions, both Government and private, participated in the tournament.
While speaking on the occasion, the DDC lauded the organizers for smooth and successful conduct of the tournament.
Earlier, ZPEO, Jib, Bhushan Sethi presented welcome address and gave brief report of the tournament.
Meanwhile, in kabaddi U-14 boys final, HS Upper Thanoa emerged winner, while MS Thard remained runner-up. Similarly, in kho-kho U-14 boys, HS Kawa remained winner and HS Sattani runner-up and in kho- kho U-17 boys, HS Roun remained winner while HS Kawa remained runner-up.
Among others present on the occasion were Joint Director Planning, Rakesh Jamwal, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Sukhdev Singh, Deputy Controller Civil Defence, DySP, Bodh Raj, Chief Prosecuting Officer, Kamal Kishore Sharma, Assistant Director Planning, Ashok Khajuria and Social Worker, Advocate S D Kotwal.
The vote of thanks was presented by Ajit Singh and Amit Sharma conducted the proceedings of the function.
