REASI, May 3: The Zonal Physical Education Office, Reasi, organized Inter-School competitions in Badminton and Wrestling for U-14 and U-17 boys and girls at the Indoor Sports Complex, Reasi.
In U-14 Badminton boys’ singles, Nakul Bali of Heritage Public School defeated Sumit Bhagat of HS Kambal Danga by 20-17, while in doubles, Vishal Singh and Gourav Singh of HS Kambal Danga beat Shubham Pigotra and Harshdev Singh of Montessori Public School Reasi by 2-0.
In girls’ U-14 singles, Moheen Mir of Gurukul HSS Reasi beat Manvi Bhagat of GMS Lower Seela 15-08, and in doubles, Sakshi and Tania of GGHSS Katra triumphed over Ayesha Parvaiz and Samreen of GMS Upper Seela by 15-12.
In U-17 boys’ singles, Rakshit Kapoor of DPS Katra beat Manik Raj of TSN Reasi by 3-2, and in doubles, Rakshit with Arav Wazir defeated Amit Bhagat and Sahil Rehman of GHS Kambal Danga. U-17 girls’ singles saw Varnika of DPS Katra defeating Tamana Rajput of GHSS Agahrjitto by 3-2, while Varnika and Ananya Tyagi beat Tamana and Bhumika Thakur by 2-1 in doubles.
In wrestling, winners in U-14 boys included Ansu Kumar (GMS Upper Seela), Mohd. Javid (GHS Panasaa), Parvesh Kumar (GHS Nomain), Sachin Kumar (GHS Agharballian), Vishav Pratap Singh (BVM), Pardeep Singh (GHS Kambal Danga), Zahid Khan (Gurukul HSS Reasi), and Mohd. Aquib (Galaxy Public School).
U-17 boys’ winners were Tanvir Ahmed (HSS Kambal Danga), Jameel Ahmed (GHS Gran), Karandeep Singh (HS Nomain), Gourav Singh (GHS Panasaa), Mohd. Arnas (GHS Panasaa), Vikrant Rajput (Montessori Reasi) and Mohd. Ashfaq (GHS Panasaa). In U-17 girls, Ruksana Bibi (GHS Panasaa) and Jyoti Devi (GHS Kambal Danga) secured first positions. The event was successfully conducted under the supervision of zonal officials.
