JAMMU, Dec 4: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Jammu concluded Inter-District UT-Level Athletics Competition for U-17 at the University Ground, here today.
The event was organised under the overall supervision of DYSSO Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma, supported by ZPEO Akhnoor Ashok Kumar, ZPEO Dansal Dinesh Kumar and a dedicated team of technical officials including Harsimran Singh, Surabjeet Singh, Reema Chhatri and Chamel Singh.
DYSSO Sukhdev Raj Sharma distributed medals and certificates among the winners and encouraged the participants to play with discipline, teamwork and determination.
The competition was conducted smoothly under the expertise of departmental professionals, including Gurbachan Singh, Harjot Kour, Vijay Sharma, Kailash Choudhary, Sukhdev Singh, Harvinder Singh, Ravinder Singh, Amit Sharma, Anil Gandhotra and Pawandeep Kour.
The results in different categories are as follows: In the (U-17) 200m race, Toyiab Shad of Jammu clinched Gold, followed by Mukund Katal of Samba with Silver and Furqan Azad of Baramulla with Bronze. In the 800m, Shaz Ali Mir of Jammu secured Gold, Aryan Sharma of Reasi won Silver and Haroon Rashid of Baramulla took Bronze. The 1500m event saw Shahid Reyaz of Ganderbal earn Gold, while Sourabh Sharma of Udhampur and Mohit Sharma of Rajouri claimed Silver and Bronze respectively.
In Discus Throw, Ganderbal’s Shahid Rey won Gold and Jammu bagged Gold in High Jump through Deepansh Kotwal. Jammu also dominated the 4×400m Relay, securing the Gold medal, District Ganderbal secured silver and Baramulla won bronze.
