JAMMU, Nov 6: The Inter-District UT Level Athletic Meet for U-19 years Boys kicked off today at Synthetic Turf University Ground in Jammu, organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu. The event saw the participation of approximately 140 athletes from 15 districts of Jammu and Kashmir, competing in various athletic disciplines.
The competition is being conducted under the overall supervision of Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu. The Inter-District UT Level U-19 Boys Athletic Meet at the Synthetic Turf University Ground, Jammu, saw remarkable performances from athletes across the region. In the 100m race, Manik Sharma from District Kathua claimed the gold, while Shahid Afridi from District Bandipora took silver and Shahzad Ahmed from District Budgam secured the bronze. In the 400m, Ifraz Ahmed from District Poonch won gold, followed by Shahid Ismail of District Shopian with silver and Sukhdeep Singh from District Jammu in third place. The 3000m race was won by Tanish Sharma from District Jammu, with Sarfraz Ahmed from District Poonch and Ranjesh Singh from District Kathua taking second and third positions, respectively.
In the 4x100m Relay, District Poonch emerged victorious, with District Jammu taking second place and District Doda finishing third. The Long Jump saw Ragav Chib from District Jammu win gold, while Saqib Bashir from District Anantnag took silver and Manik Sharma from District Kathua won bronze. In the Discus Throw, Vishav Partap Singh from District Jammu secured the first place, with Shahid Afridi from District Bandipora and Sahil Shabir from District Anantnag taking second and third, respectively. Finally, in the Triple Jump, Sachin Chib from District Jammu claimed gold.
