Inter-Collegiate TT Tournament gets underway

JAMMU, Aug 25: Inter-Collegiate Tournament in Table-Tennis (Men & Women) began at the Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu, here today.
Prof Desh Bandhu, Director Colleges Development was the chief guest on the occasion, while Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu presided over the function.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Raj Kumar Bakshi, Gagan Kumar, Vikas Karlopia, P D Singh and Jai Bharat.
In men’s section, GDC Kathua defeated Law School by 3-0. Narinder Singh beat Karman Singh by (11-06, 11-07); Dalbir Singh got better of Anurag Singh by (11-4, 11-7) and Navdeep Singh beat Aprajit Wazir by (11-1, 11-6).
MBS College got walkover against GDC Rajouri, while SRS College got walkover against GDC R S Pura and GDC Hiranagar got walkover against GDC Poonch.
In women’s section, GDC Paloura got walkover against SRS College and GCW Parade got walkover against GD C Samba
The matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Gourav Sharma, Amit Sharma and Sandeep Khadotra.
The tournament is being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu under the supervision of Director, Prof Dhian S Bhau.
