JAMMU, Oct 14: The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education at the University of Jammu concluded the Inter-Collegiate Table Tennis (Women), Kabaddi (Men) and Volleyball (Men) Tournaments for the academic session 2024-25.
The tournaments saw intense competition, with standout performances from several colleges. In table tennis, kabaddi and volleyball, the participating teams exhibited remarkable teamwork and perseverance.
In the Table Tennis (Women) tournament, GDC Poonch, GDC Ramban, GCET Jammu, GDC Hiranagar, GMC Doda and ASCOMS recorded victories over their respective opponents with impressive displays of skill. These matches officiated by Ravish Vaid and Sahil Malgotra, reflected the high standards of table tennis in the region.
The Kabaddi (Men) tournament saw thrilling matches, with teams such as MIET, GDC Akhnoor, GDC Doda, GDC Reasi, GCET, and GDC Hiranagar emerging victorious. The fast-paced games were played with great energy, as teams battled for supremacy on the Kabaddi court. These matches were overseen by a team of experienced officials, including Anil Sharma, Ajay Chopra, Dheeraj Sharma, and others.
In the Volleyball (Men) tournament, teams from MIET Jammu, GDC Kunjwani, GDC Khilotran and GDC Doda dominated their opponents with impressive set wins. The skill and coordination displayed by these teams were commendable, highlighting the growing strength of volleyball in the inter-collegiate sports circuit. The matches were efficiently officiated by Amit Sharma, Shubham Sharma, Manu Singh Pawar and Vikas Karlopia.
Several distinguished guests and dignitaries graced the tournaments among those present were Dr. Mandeep Singh, Dr. Vimal Kishore, Vinay Manhas, Dr. Vikesh Sharma, Ajaz Malik, Mukesh Sharma, Rakesh Minia, Sonu Mehra, Zakir Hussain, Aliaz, Balbir Chib, Jai Bharat, Vikas Karlopia, Raj Kumar Bakshi, P.D. Singh, Ravish Vaid, Gagan Kumar, Harinderpal Singh, Manjeet Kotwal, Richa Mandla and Vandana Sharma.
