Inter-collegiate Kabaddi, Volleyball tournaments get underway

JAMMU, Nov 16: Inter-collegiate Kabaddi tournament for women and Volleyball tournament for men, organised by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, got underway at Sindhu Gymnasium Hall and Volleyball Court, University of Jammu, here today.
In Kabaddi (women), GDC Akhnoor beat GCW Udhampur by 22 points, whereas GCW Parade got better of GDC Rajouri by 32 points and PG Department defeated GDC Kathua by 18 points, besides GDC Bhaderwah trounced GDC Rajouri by 22 points.
The matches were officiated by the technical panel of experts including Ajay Gupta, Anil Sharma, Dheeraj Sharma, Ankush Gupta, Keshav Singh, Amandeep Singh, Harpreet Singh and Gagan Kumar.
In Volleyball (men), GDC Hiranagar beat GDC Surankote by 2-0 sets (25-7, 25-13), while GDC Akhnoor got better of GDC Jindrah by 32-0 sets (25-14, 25-21) and GDC Ramnagar trounced BDC Udhampur by 2-1 sets (25-13, 23-25, 15-7), besides PG Department beat GDC Poonch by 2-0 sets (25-16, 25-16), whereas GDC Reasi got better of GDC Kunjwani by 2-0 sets (30-28, 24-14) and GDC Khour drubbed Dogra Degree College by 2-0 sets (25-16, 25-21).
Moreover, GDC Kathua beat GDC Mahanpur by 2-0 sets (25-13, 25-10), GDC Mendhar trounced GDC Rajouri by 2-0 sets (28-26, 25-20), GDC Gool defeated GDC Thannamandi by 2-0 sets (25-11, 25-16), GDC Paloura beat GDC Bhaderwah by 2-0 sets (25-13, 25-20), GMC Jammu trounced GMC Kathua by 2-0 sets (25-21, 25-14), GDC Udhampur defeated GMC Rajouri by 2-0 sets (25-7, 25-5) and GDC Nowshera got better of GDC RS Pura by 2-1 sets (19-25, 25-13, 15-13).
The matches were officiated by the technical panel of experts including Mulkraj Sharma, Amit Sharma, Shubam Sharma, Manik Nargotra, Bhawana Sharma and Vikas Karlopia.
