Indian U-15 Boys Volleyball team reaches WC semi-finals

SRINAGAR, Dec 11: The Indian Boys’ Under-15 Volleyball Team created history by reaching the semi-finals in its debut appearance at ISE Under-15 World School Volleyball Championship in Shangluo, China. Competing under the banner of the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), the team impressed with skill, composure and teamwork, securing commanding victories over Chile and host nation China in the group stage.
In the quarter-finals, the Indian boys defeated Nigeria in straight sets, cementing their place among the top four teams globally. A notable highlight is Nasir Aejaz Sufi from Baramulla, J&K, a Government School student, who rose through rigorous national trials to join the historic squad. Nasir’s foundational training under the J&K Youth Services and Sports Department and intensive national camp preparation were pivotal to his success.
This landmark achievement marks a revolutionary step for Indian school sports on the world stage. The SGFI, Ministry of Sports and Sports Authority of India provided crucial support, enabling India to showcase its emerging volleyball talent. The nation now eagerly awaits the semi-final showdown, celebrating the young athletes’ remarkable journey and dedication.
