JAMMU, Dec 18: Bringing immense pride to the nation, the Indian Men’s and Women’s Roll Ball teams emerged victorious at the 2025 Roll Ball World Cup in Dubai today, defeating reigning champions Kenya in thrilling finals.
In a nail-biting encounter, the Indian Men’s Team triumphed over Kenya 11-10 to claim the World Cup title for the fifth time. The Indian Women’s Team also showcased remarkable skill and determination, edging out Kenya by 3-2 to secure their third World Cup title after previous wins in 2013 and 2017.
Chief Coach Madhu Sharma expressed his elation, stating, “It is a moment of immense pride to clinch yet another World Cup for India. Our boys and girls displayed tremendous skill, focus and determination, defeating the defending champions in both categories. This victory reflects India’s growing strength in Roll Ball, and I am extremely proud of the entire team.”
Representing Jammu & Kashmir, Hiteshwar Singh, a two-time gold medalist from the 4th and 5th World Cups, played for India for the third time, while Suvidha Sareen, a medalist in the 5th World Cup, made her second appearance. Assistant Coach Rita Rehan was also part of the squad, contributing to strategic success. The dual triumph reinforces India’s dominance in Roll Ball and inspires young athletes nationwide to pursue excellence in emerging sports.
