NEW DELHI, June 19:
Union Sports Minister Jitendra Singh today extended his wishes to the Indian contingent for the upcoming Rio Olympics hoping that this time the medals tally would be doubled compared to last Olympics.
Adressing mediapersons here,”Being an Indian citizen and also the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, I express my good wishes to the Indian contingent. This time, we have a bunch of talented players going for the mega event and thus I am expecting that the number of medals will reach the double figures in Rio.”
“Along with me, warm wishes of 130 crore people of this country will also accompany our contingent when they will leave for Rio,” he said adding that the ministry had provided them with all the assistance depending upon their requirements.
“I have been in this ministry only for the last two to three weeks, but we have made sure that every kind of assistance and operation is made available to each of our players depending upon their requirements,” he concluded. (UNI)
