SAMBA, Dec 19: The first-ever IMCSD Athletics Meet 2025 concluded today at Smailpur Sports Stadium, promoting the theme “Love Life, Hate Drugs”.
In the 100 metres sprint, Sanvi clinched top honours in the Below-16 girls category, while Mariyam of GHSS Rahya won the Above-16 girls category. Lakshmi Sarmal and Sanijaan of Alpha Mission High School secured second and third in the Below-16 girls, while Pratiksha Charak and Janvi Bagal of GHSS Rahya finished second and third in the Above-16 category.
In the boys’ events, Neelkamal of GHSS Smailpur topped the Above-16 category, followed by Lucky Sharma and Adarsh Manhas. In the Below-16 boys, Sahil Sumbria, Krish Mehra and Madhav Singh claimed first, second and third positions respectively.
The meet was organised by IMCSD, under Startup India, Startup JK and MSME, with support from the Athletics Federation of India, J&K Amateur Athletics Association and J&K Sports Council. Dalbir Mehta, Manager, Smailpur Sports Stadium, was the chief guest, while Suresh Sharma and Vikas Sharma, CEO IMCSD, were also present. A total of 76 athletes from more than five schools participated. Events were officiated by DYSSO Samba officials.
