JAMMU, July 8: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, felicitated outstanding athletes from the All Jammu & Kashmir Sports Association of the Deaf for their remarkable performances at the 10th National Deaf Sub-Junior & Junior and 27th National Deaf Senior Sports Championships held in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The championship witnessed stellar performances by athletes from J&K, who bagged a total of 13 medals, including 2 Gold, 4 Silver, and 7 Bronze, in Karate and Judo events. Their achievements brought immense pride to the Union Territory.
During the felicitation ceremony, also attended by the Chief Prosecution Officer and Senior Prosecuting Officer, ZPHQ Jammu, the IGP personally pinned medals on the winners and praised their determination.
“These athletes have not only made Jammu & Kashmir proud but have shattered stereotypes, proving that disability is no barrier to greatness,” said IGP Tuti. He emphasized that their accomplishments are a testament to resilience and excellence.
He further assured full support to athletes with disabilities and highlighted the importance of inclusive infrastructure and equal training opportunities for all sportspersons, regardless of ability.
