HP beat J&K 4-1 in National Hockey C’ship

New Delhi, Apr 11: Himachal Pradesh got the better of J&K 4-1 in their Pool B match of the 3rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Men National Championship (North Zone) at Sonepat, Haryana today.
Himachal scored through Gurmit Singh (30th minute), Amrit Pal Singh (32, 37) and Harmanjeet Singh (43).
For Jammu & Kashmir, Ramandeep Singh scored the lone goal in 58th minute.
In another match, Delhi held Uttarakhand to a 2-2 draw.
Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd outplayed Rajasthan 4-1 in their West Zone Pool A match.
In another Pool A tie, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy beat Hockey Maharashtra 4-1.
Meanwhile, in the 3rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship (West Zone), Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd thrashed Hockey Bhopal 9-2 on the opening day today.
Jemimah Rodrigues scored as many as four goals for Mumbai, while Chaitrali (2), Simran (1), Rituja Patil (1) and Pranali Patil (1) also contributed to the team’s success.
Sanju Prajapati and Shivangi Verma scored a goal each for Hockey Bhopal.
In another match, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy defeated Hockey Maharashtra 15-1.
Anuja and Rakhi Prajapati scored three goals each for MPHA. (PTI)
