JAMMU, Apr 10: To boost the morale of the players, scholarship cheques were distributed among the participants of the 58th National School Games (NSG) in a function held at District Youth Services and Sports Office, Gandhi Nagar.
On the occasion, Navin Agarwal, Director General, Youth Services and Sports was the chief guest, who distributed the scholarship cheques to all 37 medalists including 10 gold medal winners, five silver and 20 bonze medal winners. Besides scholarship cheques were also distributed among other 201 participants.
An amount to the tune of Rs 5,96,750, out of the total sanctioned amount of Rs 15,36,750 was distributed in the form of cheques among the players of Jammu district.
While speaking, Navin Agarwal said that annual sports scholarship has been awarded by the Department of the Youth Services and Sports in recognition of outstanding contribution made by the students in the field of sports and games.
He further said that the recognition of outstanding achievements in highly motivating and honouring the deserving players is the great encouragement for others to follow.
Earlier, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Tirth Ram presented the welcome address and also presented brief report of the scholarship.
At the end, BK Tickoo presented vote of thanks.

Later, DG Sports had interaction with lecturers and ZPEO’s of the district Jammu.
