JAMMU, Apr 30: The 1st Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Memorial Hockey Tournament was inaugurated at Guru Tegh Bahadur Mini Stadium, Camp Gole Gujral, here today. Organized by Khalsa Hockey Club and Khalsa Warriors Hockey Club, the tournament aims to promote hockey and engage youth in positive sporting activities.
The opening match saw Khalsa Club Gole Gujral thrash MRS Hockey Club with a convincing 7-1 victory. Avneet Singh was declared Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
Arvind Gupta, MLA Jammu West was the chief guest on this occasion. He applauded the organizers for promoting sports among youth, highlighting its role in keeping them away from drugs and harmful influences. Other dignitaries present included Prithipal Singh Raju, GS Bakshi, Gurpreet Singh, Supinder Deep Singh Bakshi, and others. The matches are being officiated by a technical panel comprising Surinder Singh, Mannat Singh and Samiksha Kumari.
