JAMMU, Mar 25: The Hockey J&K UT Men’s Championship is currently underway at KK Hakku Hockey Stadium, Jammu, with 17 teams from across the Union Territory competing.
The exciting matches marked the opening day. In the first match, Ganderbal defeated Kupwara by 6–2, with Idrees scoring a hat-trick and Raja adding two goals, while Sharandeep Singh netted both goals for Kupwara.
In the second match, Jammu West dominated Shopian with a commanding by16–0 victory. Jaswinder Singh and Tarlochan Singh scored three goals each, supported by strong contributions from teammates.
The third match saw Kathua overpower Budgam by 16–0, led by Varinder Singh’s six goals, while Manav and Paragya scored two goals each. The championship is witnessing enthusiastic participation from players, officials and hockey lovers, reflecting growing momentum for the sport in the region.
