JAMMU, June 18: In a major push to promote grassroots hockey, Hockey J&K and Sheetu Hockey Club organized an equipment distribution event at Government High School, Simble Camp, Jammu. Young and budding players received hockey sticks, shin pads and essential gear to support their training and development.
The event was led by Hockey J&K President Gurdeep Singh Sangral and General Secretary Dr. Taran Singh, along with Vice Presidents Manjeet Singh and Jaswinder Kaur, Treasurer Ravi Raj Singh and other executive members. Dr. Taran Singh emphasized that the new Hockey J&K administration, elected under court directions and Hockey India supervision, is committed to transparency and development.
He also stressed reviving traditional hockey nurseries like Simble Camp and Gole Gujral. Community leaders, former national players and representatives of local hockey clubs praised the initiative, calling it a landmark step toward restoring hockey’s glory in the region.
