It is do or die for India as they take on formidable Germany in their third match of the Olympic Hockey competition here tomorrow.
India, who have lost two successive matches, another defeat will end their campaign for finishing among first six.
The eight-times gold medalist desperately need a win to assure their huge fans number of here and back home that are a force to reckon with in International hockey. But things, however, look gloomy and the Indians will have to come out with some extra ordinary display to keep their hopes alive.
At this level of competition, a team cannot afford to miss even half chances let alone easy chances but that is what Indians have done.
And chief coach Michael Nobbs is not happy with the performance of his team so far.
According to Nobbs, his players now face a true test of their physical and mental strength in facing their next opponent in Germany, the defending Olympic champions.
The coach said, “Germany boast the worlds premier defensive combination with consistent performances against all team over many years lending credibility to their number two ranking in this tournament and world ranking. Too say this match will difficult will be an understatement.” (UNI)
