JAMMU, Jan 29: The Social Studies Department of Heritage School organised an insightful guest lecture today on the topic ‘Economic Activities around Us’ for Class VI students, extending the chapter Livelihoods, Economies and Societies.
The session was conducted in the esteemed presence of Principal Akash Pradhan, Vice Principal Rashmi Thakur, Headmistress Hemneet Kour, Coordinator Classes VI-VIII Pooja Khanna, HOD Social Science Sonu Puri, faculty members, and students of Class VI.
The school hosted Manpreet Kour, Additional Mission Director of Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission, as the guest speaker. She explained various forms of livelihoods, economic activities, and their impact on society, citing agriculture, small-scale industries, self-help groups, and government initiatives. Her practical examples made complex concepts engaging and relatable for young learners.
The programme concluded with a memento presentation to guest speaker by Principal Akash Pradhan, followed by a vote of thanks, leaving students with valuable insights into the interdependence between livelihoods, economies, and societies.
