UDHAMPUR, Jan 21: A two-day Handball Tournament organized by the Kargil Martyrs Handball Club concluded at the Mini Stadium Handball Court, here today featuring U-14 and U-17 boys’ and girls’ teams. The event saw spirited competition across age groups and concluded with a closing ceremony attended by Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur, Saloni Rai as the chief guest.
The DC in her address congratulated the Organizing Committee for the successful conduct of the Championship, emphasizing the importance of promoting a Nasha Mukt Bharat (drug-free India). Romesh Chander Mishra, DYSSO Udhampur, was the guest of honour.
Other notable guests included Sanjeev Magotra, Vinod Dogra, Arun Mehta, Manmeet Singh, Ajay Sharma, Pawan Jamwal, Vinod Sharma and Rytham Sharma. The tournament’s technical panel comprised officials from the Youth Services & Sports Department: Rishi Sharma, Bhoopinder Singh, Karun Magotra, Sanjeev Kumar, Sourab Pandit, Vipen Photra and Anshu Khanna.
In the results, in the Boys U-17 category, Kargil Martyrs beat SPM Convent Udhampur by 10-4. In the Boys U-14 category, Arun Sharma Handball Club Jammu triumphed over Kargil Martyrs by 14-13. In the Girls U-17 category, Kargil Martyrs Handball Club defeated SPM Convent Udhampur by 8-5.
The tournament was organized under the supervision of Sakshit Sharma (Organizing Secretary) and Kushal Bhardwaj (Coordinator).
