Glamorous Club, Amjad CC register emphatic victories

POONCH, Feb 13: Glamorous Cricket Club and Amjad Cricket Club defeated their rivals to advance in the ongoing T-20 cricket tournament, being organized by J&K Police under Civic Action Programme at Govt Degree College ground, here.
In the first match played today, Glamorous Club defeated Power House Club by 36 runs in an easy contest.
Earlier, Glamorous Club won the toss and chose to bat first and scored 132 for 7 in 20 overs, while chasing the target Power House Club scored 96 in 16 overs, thus Glamorous Club won the match by 36 runs. Gurvinder Singh of Glamorous team scored 17 runs and took 3 wickets and 2 catches and was declared man of the match. Glamorous Club was skippered by Pawan Kumar, trainer Board of Control for Cricket in India.
In another match, Khalsa Club defeated Amjad Club by 16 runs in a close contest.
Earlier, Amjad Club won the toss and elected to bat first to score 161 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the target, Khalsa Club scored 145 run for 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Amjad Club won the match by 17 runs. Assad of Amjad Club scored 56 runs and took 2 wickets and was declared man of the match.
S Kirath Singh, Principal Higher Secondary School Boys Poonch was the “chief guest” on the occasion.
