GGM Science College shines at Tournament Convoquer 2025

JAMMU, Oct 7: GGM Science College, Jammu, added another feather to its cap by delivering an outstanding performance at the prestigious Tournament Convoquer 2025, held at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu. The event saw participation from top institutions across the region, with students competing in various sports disciplines.
The Women’s Chess Team from GGM Science College—Merryleen Kour, Manvi Sharma, Sakshi Verma and Neelakshi Rana—put on a brilliant display of strategy and teamwork to secure the Silver Medal, showcasing their intellectual acumen and coordination.
In athletics, the college continued its medal-winning streak. Adil Ali Zakir demonstrated remarkable strength and technique to win Silver in Javelin Throw. Taruvar Sharma earned a Bronze Medal in Shot Put, while Suraj Kumar showcased grit and endurance to bag the Silver Medal in the 5 km Race.
Principal of GGM Science College, Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, congratulated the medal winners for their hard work, dedication and sportsmanship. He praised their efforts in bringing pride to the institution.
Dr. Rahul Kait, Convener of the Sports Committee, also expressed pride in the students’ achievements, emphasizing the role of sports in fostering discipline, perseverance, and holistic growth among students.
