JAMMU, Nov 4: GGM Science College triumphed in the Men’s category and secured the Runner-up position in the Women’s category at the Inter-College Kho-Kho Tournament organized by Cluster University of Jammu for the 2024-2025 session. Held at Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, the event featured strong teams from various colleges and was supervised by Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director of Physical Education & Sports at CLUJ, and Kajal Premi, Physical Director at GCW Gandhi Nagar.
Dr. (Prof.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of GGM Science College, extended warm congratulations to both teams, praising their exceptional performances. He emphasized that this success highlights the college’s dedication to athletic development and excellence. Dr. Gupta also acknowledged the contributions of Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Physical Director, and Dr. Sunil Dutt, Convener Sports, for their commitment to student athletes.
In the Men’s final, GGM Science College clinched victory over Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, winning by a margin of 4 points, with stellar performances from Manav Singh and Rahul Singh, whose strategic play proved decisive. In the Women’s final, GGM Science College faced GCW Gandhi Nagar in a close contest, which was decided in extra time, with GCW Gandhi Nagar narrowly winning by 1 point. Gouri and Manisha from GGM Science College stood out for their skillful and spirited play.
