JAMMU, Mar 12: Match 3 of the ongoing VC Cricket Rolling Trophy tournament, held at the JKCA Ground in GGM Science College under the supervision of Dr Vinod Bakshi, Director Physical Education & Sports, Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ), witnessed an exciting contest between GCW Gandhi Nagar and GGM Science College.
After winning the toss, GCW Gandhi Nagar elected to bat first. Batting upfront, the team managed to post a total of 80 runs in 16.2 overs. Paramjeet Singh led the batting effort with a well-played 23 runs, including four boundaries, while Rahil also contributed 23 runs with four boundaries. However, the batting lineup struggled to form substantial partnerships, which restricted the team to a modest total.
Chasing a target of 81 runs, GGM Science College displayed a confident and composed batting performance. The team successfully reached 84 runs for the loss of four wickets in just 11 overs, registering a comfortable six-wicket victory. Dr Rohit scored a valuable 18 runs to stabilise the innings, while Rajesh remained unbeaten on 14 runs and Gaurav added an unbeaten 13 runs, guiding the team safely to the target. For GCW Gandhi Nagar, Javi emerged as the most successful bowler, claiming two wickets for 17 runs in three overs.
Rahul Kait was declared the Man of the Match for his impressive bowling performance, taking three crucial wickets that helped restrict Gandhi Nagar to a low total.
The match was officiated by Deepak Gupta and Manish Sharma as umpires, while Prateek Malhotra performed the duties of scorer. With this convincing victory, GGM Science College has advanced to the finals of the tournament, marking a significant achievement in the ongoing competition.
